The art of Olivier Haligon is like an open door to discoveries in a complex universe. Kinetic Art pieces, are a form of art that depends on movement for its effect. Through selecting a variety of metal sheet, modification of curves and directions, and layering, Olivier gets fascinating results.
To fully understand the beauty of Olivier's sculptures, viewers must discover them at different angles. The pieces are in constant motion, creating an immediate dialogue between person and sculpture, one where the work comes alive – shifting, flowing and popping out from the surface.
From a young age, Olivier Haligon has been immersed in the world of art and sculpture. Artist Olivier Haligon is the great-grandson of artisan Louis Haligon, who work alongside Sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi in the enlargement of the Statue of Liberty in 1875.
Combining the traditional knowledge of the Haligon family with a Master’s Degree of Engineering in Mathematics, Olivier has produced some of the most famous sculptures of our time; from small editions to monumental works. He has worked with renown artists such as: Miro, Dubuffet, Rodin, Botero, Niki de Saint Phalle and Diego Giacometti.
Based in Miami since 1998, O.Haligon Fine Art, his studio, has achieved a strong international reputation among the Art World. In 2010, Olivier was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Government in recognition of his significant contribution to the Arts.
